Dear Future Me, Writing From February 29th, 2024

Image
It's February 29th, 2024, a rare leap year, and as I stare at the uncommon date, it feels like time has paused, offering a glimpse into the future. My mind is filled with questions, and you, my future self, hold all the answers. Four years from now, will I find happiness? Did the journey unfold as planned, or did fate weave a different path? Did I achieve the dreams I hold so dear? Did I embark on the beautiful journey of starting a family with my partner, complete my PhD, and deepen my connection with Allah through Umrah? Another concern is my loved ones. Will time steal them away from me? Will our bonds remain strong, or will life separate us? Most importantly, will I be healthy and alive in 2028? Able to witness the unfolding of my future? My gaze goes beyond the personal, encompassing the world around me. Will peace finally prevail, replacing the conflicts that plague our planet? Will hunger become a distant memory, and will Gaza    finally find solace? Will Palesti...

Painting Resilience: The Vibrant Tapestry of Palestinian Music and Poetry

Image
Beneath the ancient gaze of olive trees in Palestine, music and poetry combine, forming the beating heart of a people enduring generations of hardship. These aren't just sounds and words : they are the very essence of resilience, woven into symbols of resistance that echo with the unwavering spirit of a people refusing to be silenced. Imagine a young girl's voice, symbol of resistance, Echoing vibrantly through the crowded street . As she sings "Ya Taalen El Jabal," her song carries the hopes and dreams of her ancestors, each note a testament to the enduring spirit of her people. Their music rises above entertainment, transforming into a weapon wielded against the darkness of injustice. The haunting melodies of the oud, a stringed instrument, weave tales of loss and longing, yet Spark a spark of rebellion in the face of hardship. Even within the cold, isolating walls of prisons, the Palestinian spirit finds its voice. The clandestine songs of Tarweedeh, once whispered...

The Heartbreaking Reality of Children in Palestine's Genocide

Image
In the chaos and cacophony of conflict, the pure innocence of childhood often falls victim to the brutality of war. Nowhere is this heartbreaking reality more palpable than in the tragic saga of the children enduring the ongoing genocide in Palestine. As the world watches in horror, the scars of trauma etched upon their tender faces and expressed through their fragile body language paint a portrait of unimaginable suffering. A gut wrenching video has surfaced, offering a raw glimpse into the lives of these resilient but deeply scarred children. At its heart lies a little girl, dancing in the middle of     the rubble and ruin of streets ravaged by warfare. Her dance, though attempting to convey a semblance of joy, belies the profound weariness that weighs heavy upon her small shoulders. Despite the bleakness engulfing her, she bravely strives to carve out moments of happiness, a fleeting refuge from the unrelenting agony. Yet, she is not alone in shouldering the burden of agony...

Whispers of the Soul: Unveiling Divine Secrets in "Secrets of Divine Love"

Image
Imagine stepping into a hidden library, its shelves overflowing with ancient wisdom. That's what opening "Secrets of Divine Love" felt like. From the first glimpse, I knew this wasn't just a book, it was a portal to spiritual enlightenment.  Intrigued by a glimpse on a podcast , I dove into the book, each page radiating the author's deep understanding of Islam and unwavering faith. It wasn't a dry recitation of rituals, it was a vibrant exploration of love, mercy, and the true purpose of existence. Think of intricate tapestries woven with threads of Quranic verses, Sufi poetry, and personal anecdotes . Each chapter unveiled a profound secret,  Heaven and Hell weren't distant destinations, but reflections of our inner choices. Our true goal wasn't chasing rewards, but basking in the ever present embrace of divine love. The author's words danced like poetry. Every sentence shines with the light of wisdom. But the one that touches my heart the most ...

Beneath the Olive Branches: A Dialogue on Identity and Hope Sparked by "Tabaq"

Image
Within the moonlit verses of Mahmoud Darwish, a solitary silhouette often stands, etched against the backdrop of his own experiences. But in "Tabaq," the veil parts, revealing a canvas splashed with the vibrant hues of Edward Said, another Palestinian luminary. Darwish, the poet of resistance, transforms into a conduit, weaving a tapestry of shared histories and divergent perspectives. At its heart stands Said, the intellectual, his life and ideas laid bare like an open wound. We embark on a journey not through the labyrinthine streets of al-Quds , but through the war-torn alleys of Gaza , mirroring the contemporary struggle of the Palestinian people. Said's "Out of Place" echoes in these streets, his yearning for a homeland forever out of reach resonating with every displaced family and shattered olive grove. Here, language becomes a weapon, wielding power and identity in a postcolonial landscape. Said's audacious attempt at a novel becomes a metaphor for t...
